Machins announce Associate and Senior Associate promotions
We are pleased to announce the promotion of three of our valued solicitors, Caroline Jeavons, Radha Chauhan, and Victoria Grant, to the position of Associate at Machins Solicitors LLP, effective from 1st November 2024.
Caroline, a highly experienced solicitor in commercial property, joined Machins in 2022, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in her field. Radha and Victoria began their careers with Machins as paralegals, progressing through our two-year training programme to determine their areas of specialisation and advance within the firm over the past seven years. All three have demonstrated outstanding commitment and expertise in their respective areas, contributing significantly to the growth and success of the firm.
Caroline Jeavons – Commercial Property Solicitor
Caroline joined Machins in October 2022 as part of our Commercial Property team, bringing with her extensive expertise in her field. She qualified as a solicitor in 2005 with a City law firm, joining their commercial property team upon qualification. Following a four-year career break to focus on her young children, Caroline returned to the legal profession in 2012, working with a regional practice for 10 years before joining Machins.
Specialising in all aspects of commercial property work, Caroline acts for both landlords and tenants across sectors including office, retail, and industrial. Her experience also spans the acquisition and sale of commercial freehold and leasehold properties, where her attention to detail and comprehensive knowledge of the sector have been invaluable assets to the firm.
Commenting on her promotion Caroline said, “I am thrilled to take on this new role as Associate after two years of growth and learning at Machins. It’s an exciting step forward, and I’m grateful for the support and guidance I’ve received from my colleagues along the way. I look forward to continuing to contribute to our team’s success and providing value to our clients.”
Radha joined Machins in July 2016 as a paralegal in the residential conveyancing team at our Berkhamsted office. She commenced her training contract in July 2018, gaining experience across various departments including residential conveyancing, private client, private family, and dispute resolution. Radha qualified as a solicitor in July 2020, specialising in private client law, where she provides expert advice to individuals and families on matters such as Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA), wills, and estate administration.
Radha Chauhan – Private Client Solicitor
Radha is passionate about her work, finding it both rewarding and engaging as she assists clients during challenging times. She attributes much of her growth to the supportive team at Machins, who have fostered her professional development.
Reflecting on her journey, Radha said: “I started Machins Solicitors as a young 22-year-old and over the last eight years, Machins have helped me to grow and develop not only into becoming the solicitor I am today, but the person I am. I have been provided with great support and encouragement from everyone around me and look forward to continuing my journey as a Private Client solicitor with Machins.”
Victoria Grant – Private Family Solicitor
Victoria joined Machins in January 2017 after graduating from the University of Warwick. She initially worked as a paralegal in the private client team before starting her training contract in July 2019, where she gained experience in private family, public family, company commercial and commercial property law. Victoria qualified as a solicitor in July 2021 into the private family team, where she has developed a strong expertise in private children law and complex financial remedies, particularly in lower-income cases. She completed her Resolution Accreditation in May 2023 and is also the Chair of Herts Y-Res, a committee of junior family law solicitors in Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.
Speaking about her experience, Victoria said: “I thoroughly enjoy working with families and individuals to navigate some of the most challenging times of their lives and hopefully reach a prompt resolution. Every case is unique, and family law is constantly evolving in order to keep up with modern expectations. Machins has offered me a clear career trajectory from the outset and has provided me with the right balance between support and responsibility to enable me to grow both professionally and personally.”
Senior Associate Promotions
We are also delighted to announce the promotion of four other Associates to the role of Senior Associate. Congratulations to Nigel Gibson-Birch and Maxine Braham in the Private Client Team, Jackie Hand in Residential Conveyancing, and Holly Baker in Dispute Resolution.
We congratulate all of our new Associates and Senior Associates on their well-deserved promotions and look forward to their continued success at Machins. Their dedication to providing high-quality legal services has been instrumental in maintaining our firm’s reputation for excellence across a wide range of legal services.
