Senior Private Client Solicitor
We are seeking a senior Private Client solicitor with aspirations to partnership.

Opportunity
Due to continued growth, our busy Private Client Department are looking for a new team member to join them. The role is based in our Luton office, but the successful applicant(s) may be required to support our office in Berkhamsted at times. If you have great client care, the ability to develop client relationships, support and develop junior staff, able to work independently and within a team, then this might be the right opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the fee earning team responsibilities will include:
- Development of a client portfolio by utilising good marketing skills, social media and networking opportunities
- Creation of relevant documentation to meet the client needs, in respect of;
- Wills, including living wills
- Probate applications
- LPAs
- Trust creation and management
- Court of protection work
- Administration of Estates
- Adherence to compliance policies and procedures
- Management of client expectations
- Client meetings
- Creation of relevant notes pertaining to meetings held
- Dealing with new enquiries
- Management of risk
- Dealing with new enquiries
- Relevant searches
- Development of proposals to maximise entitlements under HMRC inheritance rules
- Case and file management
- Supporting in the development of other team members
- Participation in CPD
- Support in marketing initiatives
- Participation in charity and networking events
- Participation in the development and delivery of webinars / podcasts
- Participation in legal clinics
We are looking for Individuals with:
- Substantial experience of working in Private Client within a legal practice environment – probably 10 + years.
- Desire to progress to Partner status
- Personal pride in the quality of their work which should be to a high standard
- Knowledge of the requirements of Lexcel
- Ability to communicate both in writing and orally with a wide range of people
- IT literate
- Self-motivated and able to perform to targets
- Ability to adapt to change
- Ability to support the needs of the vulnerable
- The ability to demonstrate a courteous, helpful and pleasant manner both in person and on the phone
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Efficiency, reliability and flexibility
- Excellent file management skills with good time management skills
- Proven IT skills, including the use of case management systems, MS Word, Outlook and Excel
- Valid driving licence
